After moving to TBS, talk show host Conan O’Brien added several new segments to his late night show formula. One of the most popular of these segments has been the “Clueless Gamer” bit, where Conan plays a new video game and supposedly reviews it. In these clips, Conan makes jokes, clumsily plays the game and comments on them from his perspective as someone who doesn’t play video games often. At the end of each segment Conan gives his opinion of the game and states whether or not it has his approval.
Conan’s Reviews Tend to Be Very Positive With No Serious Criticisms
Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs is the latest title to be reviewed by Conan on his show and the “review” doesn’t disappoint. Conan causes mayhem in the game’s open world while commenting on things like the implausibility of the story and how ridiculous Aiden Pearce’s jacket is. Those hoping for a more serious review, the kind with scores and technical details, should look elsewhere. Conan’s segments are more like a quick preview for entertainment and marketing purposes.
