Today on the PlayStation Blog, developer Robert Boyd of Zeboyd Games announced Cosmic Star Heroine with a teaser trailer. The studio also announced that the game is going to get a physical release with the aid of Limited Run Games.
Limited Run Games has backed several physical game releases in the past, including titles such as Oddworld: New and Tasty, Saturday Morning RPG, and many more. Should you prefer digital copies, however, the game also supports cross-buy — so buying a PS4 version will also gain you ownership of a Vita version.
Cosmic Star Heroine was successfully funded at the end of their Kickstarter campaign on October 31, 2013. The developers drew inspiration for the game from Chrono Trigger and a few other titles, and from their past experience making games. Between the end of their Kickstarter and this most recent announcement, they’ve given updates on their development of the game via Twitter from time to time, in addition to answering certain questions, as seen below about the game’s length.
Common question:
How long will CSH take to play?
We’re shooting for ~20 hrs, much longer than our last games, but it’s also faster-paced.— B.Stiernberg (@bill_at_zeboyd) June 2, 2016
Cosmic Star Heroine is set to release this summer on the PlayStation 4 and Vita. It is set to be priced at $14.99.
