It looks like Darksiders may have a home after all. Crytek USA CEO David Adams revealed his intent to bid on the THQ-owned intellectual property with the following tweet:
Looking to buy @darksiders IP back from #THQ.The IP belongs in the hands of its creators. #PS3 #Xbox

Crytek USA principal designer Ryan Stefanelli spoke with Destructoid on the subject, saying for certain that Crytek would be bidding on Darksiders during the IP auction between April 1 and April 15.
The list of intellectual property going up for auction is extensive. Here are a few of the titles/series going up for auction next week:
- Red Faction
- Homeworld
- Darksiders
- Juiced
- Titan Quest
- Costume Quest
- Supreme Commander
- Stacking
- de Blob
- Many others
The full list of IPs and single titles being sold can be found over at Joystiq.
Crytek USA aiming for Darksiders is great news for fans of the series, as Vigil Games (the original developer) is actually Crytek USA in a super secret ninja disguise. Which means Crytek hired the core Vigil team and gave them a new home.
There may be some competition for the action-adventure RPG, as Platinum Games expressed some interest in buying the IP if it were cheap. We’ll have to see how it plays out next week, but it’s safe to say that Crytek’s pockets are much deeper than those of Platinum.
