JoshOg, a popular Counter-Strike: Global Offensive streamer, recently announced that he will be hosting a $25,000 Overwatch invitational. There haven’t been many announcements in regards to competitors or the exact date. All that has been mentioned so far is that the tournament will be some time in June.
While $25,000 is not exactly the most massive prize pool for an eSports tournament, the fact that JoshOg is handling the whole thing by himself is a testament to how far the streaming business has come in such a small amount of time.
The same could be said of Overwatch itself, as the game is pushing 70,000 viewers on Twitch consistently. The last time a new competitive game had this much of a positive reception by the streaming and competitive gaming community was Hearthstone, and now it’s right up there with the top games being streamed every night.
JoshOg streams every day for at least 8 hours, unless he announces that he won’t be online via Twitter. He has been putting out a large amount of entertaining content since Overwatch’s release. You can check out JoshOg’s Twitter, YouTube Channel, Twitch Channel, and Website to learn more.
