No one can question that Cyberpunk 2077 has had a rough launch. CD Projekt Red have been promising “important fixes” to their RPG over the coming months, but modders have been hard at work in the meantime, making the most of this experience.
We’ve seen a few mods already, including a third-person option. Now, CD Projekt Red have released official modding tools for the PC version of the game.
You can find the modding website here, which includes:
-
Metadata: Per game release, required by some of the tools
-
ArchiveDump: A utility for listing contents of game data archives
-
TweakDump: A utility for listing contents of game Tweak DB (game settings) binaries
-
TweakDB IDs: A list of IDs of Tweak DB entries. Generated using TweakDump and tweakdb.str metadata
Admittedly, this isn’t a huge list of tools, but CDPR’s website confirms that “tools will continuously be updated alongside with game patches to ensure compatibility.” There’s every chance that could include more options down the line, but right now, it’s a good start.
If you’ve been enjoying the game regardless, or are looking to dive in with mods, you can check out our various guides to make the most of your time in Night City. We’ll keep you posted as more Cyberpunk 2077 news comes in, so stay tuned.
