Day Z, the super popular zombie appocalypse mod for the ultra-realistic combat simulator, ARMA II was spotted in the Steam database recently.
The mod’s creator, Dean Hall had this to say about the find:
“All I can say is that progress has been very good, we’re a mix of nervous and excited. And as I’d stated on my twitter when I announced my break from social media/updates, we are on the final lap. Part of the final process involves the actual administration of the release, which is actually surprisingly complex and time-consuming.”
Which sounds pretty gosh darn promising that Day Z will be sooner than later!
The award-winning mod reached a million players in less than six months after it was released last August.
Day Z pits players against each other in a zombie filled world, with a twist. Instead of mindlessly hacking and slashing through hordes of infected, players must focus on more pressing matters like food, shelter, and dehydration.
The mod remains in development by the community, but who knows how long it will stay active once the standalone version is completed.
