More tower defense then you can throw an alien corpse at.

Do you enjoy some tower defense?  Maybe a little alien destroying violence?  I know I do and so does Hidden Path Entertainment.

Hidden Path Entertainment is a relatively small company that was seeking out some extra funding via Kickstarter, but failed to reach their goal.  Then, suddenly, a mystery man invested the allotted money needed to make the project possible.  This man turned out the be none other then Steven Denger of Dracogen.

Who is Steven Denger?

He is the founder of Dracogen, which is a company that funds things they think are cool.  How rad is that?  They have funded many different games, events and projects that people just seem to be struggling to pay for.  They seem smart in how they do their funding as well.  Judging by how Jim and Jeff speak of the process on their Kickstarter video, it seems Mr. Denger is watching closely to make sure goals are met and promises are kept.  Nothing is scarier to an investor then a shaky partnership.

Aside from Good Guy Denger, what should have you psyched about Defense Grid 2?

Aside from the obvious of it being a defense game, it holds true to the original as well as providing new co-op modes and competitive modes; there is a community that Hidden Path Entertainment really listens to.  With the funding of the original game’s DLC, they listened to what the players wanted and tried to respond.  This proved vital in winning over some of Steven Dender’s approval.  If anything, this means that if you were a fan of the first game, you will most likely love what is coming in the second game.

Defense Grid 2 is scheduled to come out some time in early 2014.
