Trion’s upcoming open world shooter Defiance is about to enter its second beta phase, and sign ups are now open. The “Advance Mission Beta 2” will give PC gamers a taste of what’s to come from 8:00 AM PST, February 8 until 9:00 PM PST, February 10. Mark your calendars!

During this Advance Mission Beta, players will be be able to use the Ark Hunter, which Trion Worlds describes as being “genetically enhanced operatives” who are dedicated to seeking out and selling valuable alien technology. Sounds ambiguous, but we’ll find out exactly what it means when the beta starts in just over a week.

Sign ups for the Advance Mission Beta 2 are now open on the official site. If you somehow miss this short beta, there is one more scheduled for an unknown date sometime before Defiance launches in April. There has yet to be any word on a beta for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 users — you guys may be out of luck.
