It has been almost 4 years since the last Deus Ex game, and Human Revolution was regarded as a major win for the franchise. Building off of that, Eidos Montreal shows off 25 minutes of footage for the new Deus Ex: Mankind Divided.
Executive Audio Director Steve Szczepkowski narrates the video, showing off Adam Jensen arriving at a train station in Praha. From there on he partakes in a conversation with a woman in the train station, discussing the corruption in the agency and the oppressive environment they are surrounded by.
Judging from the in-game footage, which is only in its alpha stage, the game looks great, and Steve Szczepkowski does comment on the combat perspective of the gameplay saying:
“This time around, we’ve put a lot of effort and energy into making the combat pillar as visceral, rich, and as fun of an option to play as the stealth one.”
If Mankind Divided plays anything like the last installment, critics should be jumping all over the Deus Ex series once again.
[By the way, there is a spoiler scene from 18:25 to 22:20, so skip past that if you don’t want to see any spoilers before you play the game.]
