Diablo 4’s Necromancer Trailer Features So Many Undead Skeletons

Death is only the beginning for the Necromancer.

Diablo 4 is still more than a month away, but Blizzard has turned on the news fire hose for the next series installment and doesn’t seem content to turn it off anytime soon. The latest, and we think final, character trailer shows off the Necromancer, who returns to the core roster in Diablo 4 after being relighted to DLC in Diablo 3.

While short, the trailer gives us a good idea of what to expect from the Necromancer’s kit, even if you didn’t get to try the class out during the Open Beta in March. The Necromancer commands death, and it shows in the trailer.

The Necromancer can summon armies of skeletons, but it’s not all about summoning the undead to do your dark bidding. Diablo 4 is all about build variety, so if you’re looking to do the damage yourself, you’ll be able to.

Necromancers pull enemies in and stun them for crowd control, drop damaging AoE spells, and create walls of rock to hem in problematic enemies. There are also some direct damage spells, so it truly seems the Necromancer is a jack-of-all-undead-trades.

You can also mix and match. The trailer shows us the Necromancer using an army of skeletons, some AoE spells, a few direct damage abilities, and even something that allows them to phase through enemies. The Necromancer obviously won’t have a lot of melee skills, but whatever else you’re looking for, they’ve got.

You’ll be able to get your hands on the Necromancer during the Summer Slam event in May and when Diablo 4 releases on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC on June 6.
