Doctor Fate first appeared in DC Comics in 1940. Also known as Kent Nelson, Doctor Fate is Earth’s sorcerer supreme in the DC Universe. In his character reveal trailer, we see him battling Superman after being tasked to bring order and peace.

The doctor’s trademark is his golden helmet, which also serves as the source of his powers. In the comics and his brief animated appearances, he normally joins up with other DC heroes to face a great threat. He often serves as a guide to help those fellow heroes spiritually as well.

He’s also the go-to guy for stopping demons, the occult, supernatural forces, and so forth. While it’s not clear yet how this will work in Injustice 2, we do know that Doctor Fate wields magic which can harm Superman and other Kryptonians.

DC Comic book fans and fighting game fans can look forward to Injustice 2 when it releases this May.
