Is there multiplayer in Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero?

Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero is the newest game in the Budokai Tenkaichi series. Bandai Namco has released a new gameplay trailer. However, leading up to this trailer, there’s been speculation about whether you can play with your friends. So, does Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero have multiplayer?

Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero: Is There Multiplayer? 

As with any fighting game, especially previous entries in the Budokai Tenkaichi series, testing your skills against other people is the most fun. However, leading up to this trailer, there’s been speculation about whether local co-op would be in Sparkling! Zero. 

Local split-screen multiplayer has been a series staple. The trailer showcasing Goku and Vegeta fighting as they fly around and transform into Super Saiyan Gods sparked fans’ hopes that it would return. Unfortunately, Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero will not have local multiplayer.

Despite the lack of local multiplayer, Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero promises to deliver intense battles and adrenaline-pumping action. It stays true to the Budokai Tenkaichi series’ essence while embracing modern gaming technology advancements.

However, don’t worry too much. Sparking! Zero will have online cross-platform multiplayer. The game is set to release on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, so you can play with anyone on those systems. 

Bandai Namco also announced 11 new fighters that you can use when playing online, bringing the roster all the way up to 35 playable characters. Here is the list of new fighters that were revealed: 

  • Burter
  • Dyspo
  • HIT
  • Jeice
  • Kakunsa
  • Master Roshi (Max Power)
  • Nappa
  • Super Saiyan Broly (Full Power)
  • Super Saiyan Kale (Berserk)
  • Super Trunks
  • Toppo
