Dungeon Striker, the upcoming brainchild of Eyedentity Games (Dragon Nest), takes on ARPG-style dungeon crawling with cute characters fast, flashy combat. The game’s beta phase started earlier this year, and it’s slated for full release in South Korea in 2013. So what’s up with it, and why should you be looking forward to an English release?

If Eyedentity Games proved anything in their development of Dragon Nest, it’s that they know how to make smooth combat. At its core, DN is a fun game. The game’s instanced combat is fun enough to make the grind to 50 not seem all that bad, especially if you’re with friends. Even beating each other up in PVP is fluid and fun.

Would the fun of this type of combat translate well to an isometric view? Judging from the gameplay videos leaked from the closed beta and official trailers, it looks like it will.

And finally, the most recent trailer from G*Star shows off some of the classes found in the game.

We’ve got a while to wait for an SEA or NA release, but Dungeon Striker seems even better as more information is revealed. A complex class tree and actual smooth action combat are both A+ in today’s MMO market.

Considering the South Korean version of the client won’t be released until next year, we may have a while to wait. Here’s to hoping for a quick localization of Dragon Nest‘s spiritual successor.
