Dying Light 2, once scheduled for a spring 2020 release, has been officially delayed by Techland. Like Marvel’s Avengers, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, and Cyberpunk 2077, the open-world zombie game needs a bit more time to cook. As of writing, Techand has not provided a new release window for the game.
Techland CEO Pawel Marchewka said of the delay via the studio’s official Twitter account: “We were initially aiming for a 2020 release with Dying Light 2, but unfortunately, we need more development time.”

From the sound of things, it appears that Dying Light 2 might not be ready for months, but it will (hopefully) be much better when it eventually drops.
For fans frustrated that many of 2020’s tentpole games are getting delayed, it’s important to remember that games are often delayed to make them better. Often, a rushed game is bad forever.
We’ll have more information on Dying Light 2‘s release date when more is revealed in the coming weeks and months. Stay tuned.
