Dying Light’s April Fools DLC Sends Zombies Flying

Flying zombies sounds scary... unless you're the one making them soar!

It’s that time of year again, April Fools Day is coming up. Those 24 hours where you can trust no one. If you want to avoid bad jokes from your friends and family, just stay indoors, play Dying Light, and show zombies they can fly!

A 24-hour special DLC, lasting only during the 1st of April, will be available for Techland‘s Dying Light. The game had a more serious feel on zombies and the end of the world compared to the developer’s more amusing Dead Island, but some fun will be added to this dramatic zombie land.

A video explains that unusual effects will be in play because of contaminated Antizin, an anti-viral injection that prevents you from going full-on zombie during the game. The side effects include “uncontrollable fits of physical violence”, “excessive strength and aggression”, and “persistent muscle tension”. In short: you can kick zombies into the air and punch them through walls.

April Fools is a bad day to be a zombie.

Chaos Explained

An “official release” from Hudson Jenkins, spokesman for the GRE (Global Relief Effort), explains this 24-hour in-game nonsense:

“All undelivered Antizin crates have been destroyed, and we would like to assure the survivors that untainted drops will resume as of April 2nd. We urge all the survivors to use extreme care when exhibiting symptoms of the contaminated Antizin injections.”
