Ubisoft gave us a strong presentation in LA this evening, hosted by Archer‘s Aisha Tyler. The conference opened with a verbally colorful trailer of the first five minutes of Far Cry 4.
Far Cry 4 is set in Kyrat, a fictional region of the Himalayas, ruled by a colorful new character who has named himself King. It’s set to launch on November 18th in NA and November 20th in EU on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3, and PC.
Next we were shown Just Dance 2015, which will feature new songs like “Happy” by Pharrell Williams. What was interesting to see was the mobile app that will allow your phone to become a controller, allowing anywhere from 4-20,000 players! Pretty impressive.
Peter Mannerfelt discussed the upcoming third-person action RPG Tom Clancy’s The Division, which was shown earlier during the Microsoft conference.
The story takes place in New York and is based on a disease that has spread and brought the United States to its knees. The player is part of a group called the “Strategic Homeland Division” (SHD), or Division for short, who have been authorized by the President of the US to do whatever is necessary to save what’s left of society in this multiplayer game. Set to release on Xbox One, PS4, and PC sometime in 2015.
We were then shown The Crew presented by Julian Gierghty. An upcoming open-world racing game featuring both single-player and multiplayer modes, along with a mobile app that will allow you to build cars. The Crew is set to release in NA on November 11th on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
Alex Amancio presented more of Assassin’s Creed Unity. This latest addition to the hit series features a 4-player shared experience. Have your friends join you in your campaign as you fight in this historical stealth open world action-adventure.
The game takes place in Paris, France during the French Revolution and features a story driven co-op that blends with the single-player. Players can select from unique co-op skills to help their team against enemies. The game will be out on Xbox One, PS4, and PC on October 28th.
Shape Up is a new fitness game. Ubisoft has partnered up with Microsoft to bring gaming fun to fitness. The game features a set of mini-games to challenge yourself and friends. It will be exclusive to Xbox One and will be out before the Christmas holiday.
I can say that the Valiant Hearts: The Great War did make everyone a bit teary-eyed. The game is inspired by letters written during the World War I and centers around four strangers entering the battlefield to help a young German soldier find his love. It’s a story about survival, sacrifice, and friendship. It’s a very unique puzzle adventure video game.
The Ubisoft conference came to a close with a thanks to fans from Yves Guillemot and stating that he had one more game to show. What game you may ask? Rainbow Six Siege! It’s a reboot of Patriots for the next-gen and the story is being kept hush-hush at the moment. We were given a world premiere of a multiplayer match that was most impressive.
