EA Gamescom: Sims 4 Details

More details as promised about The Sims 4, Press Conference at Gamescom. New features, emotions, and building options.
This article is over 11 years old and may contain outdated information

As promised yesterday, I’ll be giving you all the skinny on what was said during the EA Press Conference at Gamescom, involving all that is Sims 4. According to the presentation done a few hours ago, the Sims 4 should revolutionize the franchise created by Maxis, by making a game that will be driven by emotions.

The presentation was given by VIP, Executive Producer at Maxis, Rachel Franklin gave a wonderful presentation that not only stimulated the audience, but touched my Sim-loving heart.

The Power with SmartSim

If you thought your Sims were driven by emotions in the previous games, nothing will compare to the Sims 4. The new Sims will be based on emotions, giving them a more realistic approach to real life emotions. As a player I find myself getting very attached to my Sims in The Sims 3, I can’t wait to find out how attached I’ll become in the future Sims 4. The emotions will drive the game, including how your interactions will occur with Sims at future meetings, and even the decor around the room will affect the game play.

Building Houses: Improved and Made-Easy

Building a house on the Sims 4 should be easier than ever. If any of you have tried to build a house in any Sim game you have probably faced the challenges of making them look perfect, or even house-like. Within the Sims 4 you will have pre-made rooms that look as if “they were ripped out of a magazine”, and you can pull and drag rooms around for your liking. As a person who found this feature challenging in The Sims 3 and the older games, I can’t wait to find out how much easier Maxis has made this.

Revamped Create-A-Sim

Many of you Sim players have probably taken advantage of creating your own characters. From the first Sims to the Sims 3, the customizations are only getting better. In the press conference, Maxis representative Rachel Franklin demonstrated how the customizations of creating your own sims have advanced.

You will be able to “mold them like clay” by pulling and dragging their features

You will also be able to set their walking style to match their personality. I bet there’s much more they’re not telling us yet, that will only baffle the mind.

Those lucky ducks at Gamescom get to not only view the Sims 4, but get to play it as well. For those of you who want to invest quickly in this game, it’s now available for pre-order on Origin.
