EA has come through on their promise, delivering a 5-minute long gameplay trailer featuring protagonist Faith Connors kicking butt along with a generous display of the game’s signature parkour traversal.

Although originally announced back at E3 2013, EA DICE hasn’t shown off much of the gameplay until now. Compared to its predecessor, Faith’s parkour abilities are much smoother than before as she quickly navigates her way through the building. From the trailer, combat seems to maintain the same fluidity as Faith seamlessly takes down enemies with stylish finishing moves.

In addition to the gameplay, the trailer delivers some insight into the game’s story. Faith encounters a masked person while infiltrating a building owned by Gabriel Krueger, a man who is bad news according to Noah, Faith’s associate. After a dramatic escape from Krueger’s goons, Faith takes a desperate plunge out of the window, leaving Faith’s fate up in the air.

From the combat portion shown in the trailer, EA DICE has kept up with their promise of not allowing Faith to use guns. At one point, Krueger’s goons fire at Faith, but she does not pick up a gun herself.  As the gunplay was criticized heavily in Mirror’s Edge, it is probably for the best that EA DICE is sticking to their promise.

Mirror’s Edge: Catalyst will release on February 23, 2016 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
