ELEAGUE, the new professional eSports league, launches tomorrow, Tuesday, May 24th, at 12pm EST via Twitch. They will be launching from Turner Studios, a 10,000 square foot arena specifically built for eSports. The arena is build to capture all of the action and allow the best viewing experience for the league.
The ELEAGUE arena will host a live audience and will have 26 cameras to broadcast from, including 12 devoted to capturing the point of view perspectives of each player and one focused on the team throughout the competition. The studio will also use a JitaCam, a camera suspended from the ceiling that is capable of capturing 360-degree angles of the entire event floor.
Turner Studios has also built a custom eSports office space and training facilities for the competing teams. Turner Studios is giving ELEAGUE access to all of its content creation and technological capabilities.
The new professional eSports league will feature 24 elite Counter-Strike: Global Offensive teams from around the globe competing over a 10-week period from a state-of-the-art arena at Turner Studios in Atlanta. In the United States, live event coverage will include week-long digital content on Twitch (Tuesday/Wednesday from 12-7 p.m. est and Thursday from 2-7 p.m.) with a Friday night televised showcase airing on TBS at 10 p.m. EST (along with digital platforms). The 10 weeks will lead up to the Global Championship held Saturday, July 30, and an overall purse of $1.4 million.
