Empire of Sin to Receive Free Expansion Later This Year

Empire of Sin gets a new update and the announcement of a new free expansion coming later this year.

Empire of Sin is a turn-based strategy game where players can build their criminal empire through an engaging and thrilling character-driven story. On launch last year, it was praised by critics for its clever combination of ideas, but those were marred by frequent bugs and an overall sense of it being incomplete.

Now, with many of the fixes dealt with and imbalances now balanced, Empire of Sin developer Romero Games are ready to shift from fixing issues players have been dealing with to adding more content based on the changes and player feedback. This will come in the form of its first free expansion, titled The Precinct

This announcement also coincides with the launch of a new update for the game, the Gangster Update, which according to a press release regarding the news is “a pivotal moment for Empire of Sin as the development team shifts focus from balancing and stabilizing updates to the addition of new content.”

The Gangster update includes multiple fixes such as AI adjustments for combat and factions, numerous gameplay and UI fixes, an updated weapon proficiency system and diplomacy improvements.

The Precinct is set to further expand the gameplay so players can control their empire while creating supply lines, a defensible perimeter, and the introduction of mod support.

Empire of Sin is currently available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. If this is your first time hearing about the game, consider checking out our review
