eSports magazine ESLGaming has partnered with Turtle Rock Studios and game publisher 2K to bring the forth the first ever Evolve Proving Grounds tournament for Xbox One.
Players can enter the tournament through the eight online qualifiers. There are four Europe qualifiers and four North America qualifiers. The tournament is only for North American and European players. Those who pass the qualifiers then go to the LAN finals. For tournament purposes, the residents of Mexico and Canada are eligible to enter the North American qualifier. Players who have an Xbox Live Gold membership and an ESL can enter the tournament, too.
Only four teams will win the qualifiers. The teams that do will receive a trip to the semifinals. The qualifying rounds will go from April 26th to May 10th. The European semifinals will be on May 24th at the ESL studio in Cologne, Germany. North America semifinals will take place at the ESL studio in Burbank, California on May 31st. The finals will commence June 15th at the Global Finale in Los Angeles. There will be 128 five-player teams from each region in each round of the tournament. Teams will have multiple opportunities to play in several qualifying rounds.
2K will be providing the cash prizes for the tournament. The tournament semifinals will be streamed through Twitch. North American players can sign up here. European players can sign up here.
