As any Mario Kart 8 owner should know by now, Nintendo has plans for downloadable content that will come in the form of new racers, equipment, and tracks. The likes of Cat Peach, Tanooki Mario, and Link have already been announced for DLC pack one but the courses haven’t been mentioned too much. The only real mention of them was in the image on the MK8 official site. The first download hits home in November and last time I checked, November is next week. That changed today with the Excitebike track/arena getting a reveal.
Nintendo has a knack of cashing in on nostalgia and who could blame them? The first download pack screams early Nintendo history with Link, Tanooki Mario, and courses from F-Zero and Excitebike. Who didn’t want “will karts be allowed on the Excitebike track?” This shows that Nintendo hasn’t lost a step and when you think they don’t have a trick or two up their sleeves, they hit you with this. This adds to the excitement for the Mario Kart 8 DLC that’s been building up since its release!
