Executive Producers for the upcoming Assassin’s Creed movie have recently given reporters an interesting insight.
Executive Producer Pat Crowley told IGN during their recent visit to the set, the film is going to be set about 65 percent in the present time and 35 percent in 15th Century Spain.
This is different than fans might have thought after playing the games themselves which are normally set in the past with only bits of the story in contemporary times.
Michael Fassbender, who will portray Callum Lynch as well as Aguilar, told IGN, “There are certain things that we absolutely want to respect in the game, but we also want to bring new elements to the game … This isn’t a video game that we’re making. We’re trying to make a cinematic experience, so there are new things that we have to introduce.”
This could be scary for fans of the franchise. We’ve all seen how well many of our beloved games have done when adapted into films. Super Mario Bros... need we say more? Sure. How about Max Payne, Hitman, DOA: Dead or Alive, Wing Commander, House of the Dead, Alone in the Dark. Okay. Okay. We’ll stop there.
