My news feed has lit up with friends using the new Facebook “Share your feelings or what you’re doing” prompt.
Really?
Given the recent monetization efforts around sending birthday gifts, I’m wondering how this new status will be used:
“Tammy is feeling depressed. Send her Godiva chocolates?”
What can I say? I’m a cynic.
What new feature would you have rather had instead?
I’d have liked to see the much requested “dislike” button so I can finally have an appropriate light-engagement response for when people post awful news. I get it, people could use the dislike button to be jerks. But Facebook isn’t a forum. Your audience is – theoretically anyway – your friends. And if that’s the case then anyone who decides to dislike your new job, car, spouse or birthday cake should probably be pruned from your list anyway.
Just my two cents. Keep yer mood ring. Give me dislike.
