The upcoming months will be a great time for Borderlands 2 fans. Not only are there some upcoming DLC, but also a GOTY edition which will include all the released DLC to date, including the Mechromancer and Psycho packs.
GOTY Edition
We all know that BL2 is not one to skip out of downloadable content, and they are making sure everyone can get their hands on their DLC. IGN has released information about a possible Game of the Year edition for Borderlands 2. This new edition will include all of the DLC and also the two extra characters we’ve come to know and love. This GOTY edition will include:
- Creature Slaughter Dome
- Psycho Pack
- Captain Scarlet’s And Her Pirate’s Booty
- Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt
- Mister Torgue’s Campaign Of Carnage
- Tiny Tina’s Assault On Dragon Keep
- Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade
- Mechromancer Pack
No word on the pricing just yet, but keep an eye out for more information.
Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 2
On September 3, a new Ultimate Vault Hunter upgrade will be available. This will include a new level cap and a mountaintop training ground for the Crimson Raiders called Digistruct Peak. Your vault hunters will now have the ability to reach level 72 with the new level cap. One of the most interesting parts about the level cap is once you reach level 72, you can decide what level you want your enemies to be going all the way up to level 80. Why would you want to fight level 80s? Well, how about some orange and purple loot drops. Yeah, seems worth it, huh?
With this upgrade, extra playable content and three more “Headhunter” packs will be available. A Halloween-themed TK Baha’s Bloody Harvest is set to release in October.
Digistruct Peak is a new adventure in itself. When you first arrive, the bacon-hating researcher-turned-freedom fighter Patricia Tannis will meet you and give you a run-down of the mission ahead. Digistruct Peak, which is well balanced for a team of four players, should take about an hour to complete. The mission is full of challenging backgrounds and baddies, so you won’t be bored.
“It truly is a very challenging area,” Gearbox designer Jason Reiss says of Digistruct Peak. “I’m hoping that the fans are prepared for it and willing to take it one step at a time. It’s about learning the area and learning the encounters. Until you get to the higher ranks, when we start mixing it up and add the randomness.”
As a huge Borderlands 2 fan, I extremely excited for the future of the game. Although I have all the DLC up to date, I think the GOTY edition is a great idea for people who are just now getting into the game. I’m also way pumped for the new level cap, the upcoming Headhunter packs and the new training ground. Fall will be a great time to be a BL2 fan.
What are you most excited for in the world of Borderlands? Is it the ability to choose your enemies’ levels or is it the Halloween-themed Headhunter pack? Let me know with a comment!
