Bethesda Game Studios announced today that the new 1.5.4 update for Fallout 4 is now available for PC users, and will be making its way to consoles some time next week.
The 1.5.4 update includes new additions and improvements to the mods system. In the Load Order menu, mods will now display explanatory text when highlighted, and there is a feature to disable or delete all mods at once. There’s more space for text on the Mod Details page “for improved readability,” according to the developers. The Details Page will also now display the number of ratings the mod has received. In addition, the Most Popular filter can also now be toggled between Daily, Weekly, and All Time for an improved searching experience.
The update also includes fixes for problems encountered in the new Contraptions Workshop DLC, including a particularly bad problem wherein weapons and armor pieces would lose their mods and/or their Legendary status after being placed and then removed from weapon or armor racks. There are also general improvements in the game’s stability and performance.
Those looking to participate in the closed PS4 mods beta will need to upgrade to this newest version. At the time of writing, Bethesda reports that one issue with the 1.5.4 update is that the upcoming DLC Vault Tec Workshop and Nuka World are displayed as “available” in the addons menu, and that they are working with Valve to correct the issue as soon as possible.
