Following the releases of Final Fantasy IV and Final Fantasy XIII on Steam earlier this year, Square Enix plans to port Final Fantasy XIII-2 in 1080p on December 11. The game originally came out on PS3 and Xbox 360 platforms in 2012.
Final Fantasy XIII-2‘s port will run in 60 frames per second and offer dual audio in both English and Japanese.
This game is a direct sequel to Final Fantasy XIII released in 2010 and is a part of the Fabula Nova Crystallis sub-series. It focuses on what happened since the original game and three years after. Lightning’s sister, Serah Farron, is the main character along with a new character, Noel Kreiss. They search through various time streams to find Lightning, who disappeared shortly after the first game.
The sequel’s battles system follows paradigm shifts like the first, however a new monster capturing system similar to Pokémon was added. Serah and Noel are permanent party members and the third slot is open for beasts.
Until its release date, Final Fantasy XIII-2 is 10% off of the original price of $19.99 in the Steam Store.
