This weekend's Tokyo Game Show has given us quite a bit of news about upcoming titles. Final Fantasy XIV fans however can now rejoice because more info has been released about the upcoming 2.1 patch! One feature players have been wanting is player housing and it looks like we won't have to wait much longer!
As shown in the video above, players will be able to create and customize over 300 different features of their home (ex: furniture and exterior decorations). You will also be able to choose from three sizes: large, medium and small. At first there will only be housing for free companies with individual housing to come later.
Another big feature fans have been clamoring for is PVP and it looks like that will be coming as well! PVP will take place in a seperate area called "The Wolves' Den" ("The Wolves' Jail" in Japanese) where two teams of four people each will be able to duke it out to see who reigns supreme throughout all of Eorzea.
There will be three different types according to level range, Level 30, Level 40 and Level 50, which means that those who are level 29 and under won't be able to participate. I think it's a good decision to break it up this way because it will be more evenly matched with everyone already having unlocked their job. There will also be abilities exclusive for use in PVP but no information has been announced just yet.
In addition to housing and PVP there will also be much more content coming in the 2.1 patch such as a new primal battle against the Good King Moogle Mog XII and extreme mode primal battles. There will also be a two hard mode dungeons as well as a brand new dungeon for players to explore called Pharos Sirius. Concept art for the area can be seen in the picture above.
Other features planned include: Treasure Hunting, Hard Mode Boss Battles, Beastmen Daily Quests, and "Duty Finder - Random Matching System".
With all of the fun I've been having in Eorzea it makes me crazy excited to see what's to come in the 2.1 patch! I can't wait to get my own house and deck it out with moogles, chocobos and cactuars.
How about you? Are you as pumped for the 2.1 patch as I am? Let me know in the comments below!
