The first episode of the Mighty No. 9 documentary was released yesterday. This episode covers the lead up to the Kickstarter launch. Just watching the the video you can see how much the team, especially Keiji Inafune, are really putting into the game developement. I can only imagine what it’s like to have the project you envisioned actually making steady progress.

A little Back Story

Keiji Inafune is one of the most prominent individuals in the Mega Man series. However back in 2010 Inafune left Capcom for whom he had been working for over 23 years, to start his own company called Comcept. Inafune announced Comcept’s first title, as well as launched the Kickstarter on August 31st, 2013. Since then the game has been fully funded and then some, with over $2.6 million pledged to the project. With four more days to go I hope they can make the big stretch goal of putting Mighty No. 9 on the Playstation 4 and Xbox One.

The Documentary

While the first episode is just the lead up to the Kickstarter launch, you could see all the work that was going on around the Comcept studio. It was really amazing getting to hear from several of the members of the Mega Man team. We got a sneak peek at some of the art, music, and animations of the game and I can only say that I’m thrilled to see this project.

What really got me was the amount of feeling that the team showed though. You could really connect to them on an emotional level just by how they presented themselves. You could see the enthusiasm on their faces while talking about the project. Also, just the overwhelming emotion whenever Inafune himself was on camera.

If you have the time please watch the episode. I am really looking forward to seeing how this project turns out, and I wish the Mighty No. 9 team all the best in completing their project.
