In the gaming industry, there are a couple of things that are certain, PCs, Call of Duty — and Pokemon. No matter how much time has passed, Pokemon is still a mainstay of gamers everywhere.
The newest iteration of the Pokemon franchise, Pokemon Sun and Moon, was released Nov. 18th worldwide. On top of being positively received by gamers and reviewers alike, Nintendo has just announced that it has broken 10 million copies shipped worldwide.
This new milestone is the highest number of units shipped in the entire history of Nintendo 3DS releases.
This upsurge in shipments could be attributed to the new influx of players coming off the Pokemon Go train, since the mobile app sparked interest in many people who had never touched a traditional Pokemon game before.
The popularity of Pokemon continues with Pokemon Sun and Moon and more copies are expected to be sold in the coming weeks.
