If you were waiting for a Steam release before getting your hands on the new indie horror everyone is talking about, now’s your chance: Five Nights at Freddy’s is now officially available on Steam for $4.99!
If you’re a bit out of the loop, here’s a quick rundown of what’s in store in Freddy’s:
You’re a security guard tasked with watching over the animatronics of Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzera during the night shift, armed only with a security monitor, two lights, and two doors.
What could be so spooky about that? Animatronics aren’t that scary, right? Normally I’d be inclined to agree, but..
It’s clear these animatronic mascots aren’t looking to give you a good time. They are looking to give you a very very bad time.
What’s best about this game isn’t the jump scares (there are plenty of those to be sure), but the atmosphere and mystery behind the game. The game’s one-man developer did an amazing job with Five Nights at Freddy’s sound effects, elusive lore, and early-90’s look. Immune to jump scares or not, this is one indie horror title worth checking out.
Freddy’s is now available on Steam for the low price of $4.99, and a DRM-free version is available on Desura. Get ready for Freddy, and give what is one of the most unique horror games in some time a shot. (And protip: Press Alt+Enter to switch to windowed mode.)
