Earlier this evening at the North American International Auto Show, Microsoft and Ford teamed up to announce Forza Motorsport 6 on the Xbox One. Since this will be Forza’s 10-year anniversary, Turn 10 and Microsoft made big plans to release the Forza Motorsport 6 trailer during the announcement of the new Ford GT supercar, which will be the cover car for the new game.
According to Alan Hartman, the studio manager at Turn 10, the involvement of the car manufacturers has changed over the last three to four years, as they’ve realized that this is a very important venue for them; car companies want to be featured in a game with Forza’s name recognition and power. Raj Nair, who leads Ford’s global product development, said that Forza Motorsport 6 will give fans the opportunity to “virtually experience” Ford’s lineup of performance automobiles.
A release date for Forza Motorsport 6 has not been announced yet, but gameplay will be unveiled during E3 in June, and the announcement trailer that was shown at the auto show can be viewed below.
