Earlier today GameStop stated that from October 21st – November 15th they will be inviting their customers to show support for military veteran focused charities, and their causes. Power Rewards members who donate money at their local GameStop will receive triple the reward points of the amount you donate. You may donate either $1, $5 or $10 and the money will be given to two different charities.
The Charities & What They Are About
The Call Of Duty Endowment is a non-profit organization that uses a performance-driven approach to fund organizations helping military veterans re-enter the civilian job market with high quality careers. They are also trying to raise awareness of the value that our veterans bring to the workplace. The Endowment has helped over 25,000 veterans get high quality jobs since 2009. Their goal for now is to help 50,000 by 2019. GameStop has already helped tremendously since 2012, raising more than $3,000,000, helping 3,400 veterans get jobs.
The Snowball Express supports the families of our fallen heroes. They have been at work since 2006 to support the families left behind. They also hold an annual “Snowball Express” event, as well as some smaller “Snowflake” events for those who have lost loved ones. GameStop has sponsored Snowball Express for awhile now, providing the best gaming experience for the kids at the events.
The GameStop campaign will be supported by specialized in-store and online promotional materials, online outreach through the company’s mobile gaming division, Kongregate, and GameStop’s passionate store associates who are committed to giving back to their communities.
