Whelp, there’s a surprise.
After another successful year of E3 coverage, it seems that not all is well for GameTrailers. Even though they had great coverage of the convention, a few people are now laid off and there may be more soon to follow.
Producer of GTTV Jeremy Hoffman and Director Ryan Stevens both made a post on Twitter confirming that they are officially no longer with the company. Here are the tweets from both of them:
My 10th #E3 complete, Friday the 13th and just got laid off from @Gametrailers http://t.co/X29fQpfgtT

“@hofftv: people @GameTrailers will be looking for jobs, editorial, video editors, tech managers looking for work. #gamejobs” including me MT

This is a bit of a shock since GameTrailers hosted one of it’s best shows in a while. While layoffs are common in the business world after big events, having two of the top people be laid off is a little worrisome.
However, this can be considered good news if you are one that is looking for a job since it seems a few positions will be opening up within the next few days.
It’s always hard to hear about people losing their jobs. Best wishes to all who are now without employment.
