Genshin Impact 3.6 Update Will Finally Make Two Favorite Characters Playable

It’s been a few weeks since Genshin Impact Version 3.5 dropped along with the new characters Mika and Dehya. It’s now time for the Version 3.6 update, called “A Parade of Providence.”

Set to begin on April 12, 2023, the identically titled flagship event will center around the Akademiya Extravaganza festival held in Sumeru. After the Liyue Lantern and Mondstadt Windblume Festivals that were the basis for the previous two updates, players will be able to see how the Sumeru region likes to celebrate.

Genshin Impact Akademiya Extravaganza

The Akademiya Extravaganza will primarily feature six unique minigames to play through:

• Gathering of Stars – Rotating Astrolabe puzzles.
• Project Connectivity – A construction minigame where a usable path between checkpoints must be made with as few resources as possible.
• Antiquity Hunt – A Replica-gathering minigame.
• In Truth’s Steps – A story-based investigation minigame.
• Concocted Reaction – Unique combat domain trails.
• Mimetic Replication – Time-based minigame involving the recreation of animal movements.

While there are a lot of the typical rewards available for completing these events, including Primogems and Mora, players will also be able to unlock Faruzan for free. This will be a prime chance for those that missed her when she was added back in December or want to increase her Constellation.

Girdle of the Sands Area

Sumeru’s desert region is continuing to expand with a brand-new area named Girdle of the Sands. It will bring new enemies and exclusive events. A weekly boss called Apep and an Abyss boss called Iniquitous Baptist will also be fought within the new area.

Everyone’s always looking forward to the new banners and there is a lot to be excited about with the new update. The first phase will feature The Moongrass’ Enlightenment and Twirling Lotus event wishes, headlined by fan favorites Nahida and Nilou respectively. These reruns will allow new players a chance to unlock them and returning players an opportunity to build up their Constellations.

It’s with the second phase that two brand-new characters will be added, each of which was introduced previously in various quests.

The Immaculate Pulse event wish will feature the long-awaited Baizhu joining as a 5-star Dendro Catalyst user while the Adrift in the Harbor event wish will be a rerun featuring Ganyu. Kaveh, a new 4-star Dendro Claymore user, will be available in both. Players will also be able to unlock the Catalyst weapon for Baizhu, called Jadefall’s Splendor.

Rounding out the character content are a few unique quests. Both Baizhu and Nahida will be receiving exclusive story quests, while fans of the Cryo character Layla will have more time to learn about her in a new Hangout Event.
