Ubisoft, in celebration of it’s 30th anniversary, is giving away seven games. So far the list includes: Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Splinter Cell, Rayman Origins and The Crew. These were given away between June and September of this year. This month, they are giving away Beyond Good and Evil.
The cult classic hit, directed by Michel Ancel, was considered a commercial failure when it was first released, in 2003. Even though it was praised at the time (it received a nomination for game of the year, in 2004), but when it was re-released for the Xbox 360 it did very well.
Here, a trailer for the HD edition.
Maybe one of the reasons they are giving it away, and perhaps a reason to play the game, is the fact that the sequel — Beyond Good and Evil 2 is currently in pre-production.
The only catch is that you have to play it on Uplay, the online gaming platform of Ubisoft.
It’s important to keep in mind that each game is free for a limited time. There are still two games, currently unknown titles, scheduled to be given for free in November and December.
