In the latest upcoming update for Halo 5: Guardians’ 24-player Warzone mode, 343 Industries is introducing a new gargantuan “Grunt Goblin” and a air support vehicle, the UNSC Wasp.
The Grunt Goblin is a burly mech controlled by the familiar Grunt unit. It’s equipped with a colossal canon-like needler that is capable of inflicting dangerous amounts of damage to vehicles. The heavy needler can also launch a bombardment of needles upon up to 8 different players through multi-targeting. The Goblin can also emit a EMP pulse, shutting down any nearby vehicles, and in turn is immune to any EMP-like shots.

343 Industries gave a little more insight into the suit’s design:
“Essentially, the backstory of this battle suit is it was built by Grunts for Grunts in what the Grunt designers agreed was the perfect embodiment of agility and lethality. Obviously when you have a Grunt driver or ‘jockey’ controlling this powerful battle suit, results may be unpredictable.” [Via Polygon]
Although the Grunt Goblin’s arsenal demands to be taken seriously, there are several weak areas on the mechanized armor like its backpack which will disable the suit’s heavy needler; however, by rendering the needler out of commission, the Goblin has access to a powerful grenade launcher. The cockpit of the suit is another potentially vulnerable area to focus fire.
If players so choose, the other addition to the Warzone update, the UNSC Wasp could be utilized to bring the Goblin down.
The Wasp is designed to be a “close air support” flying vehicle variant of the UNSC Hornet and Sparrowhawk. It’s equipped with dual rocket launchers and a heavy machine gun.

The Wasp would be great for swooping in to unleash carnage on the Goblin, and retreating in guerrilla warfare fashion.
The UNSC Wasp will be available in Forge mode to players who obtain an REQ card, and both the Goblin and Wasp will be coming in the latest free update to Warzone mode, which is said to be coming soon.
