GOG.com kicks off the season with its annual Summer Sale from June 8-22, and this time with free games to grab! For the first 48 hours, players can obtain a free copy of System Shock 2 simply by logging into the GOG Galaxy client with their GOG account. The GOG Galaxy client is free, entirely optional, and provides the benefits of chat, achievements, and online multiplayer for DRM-free games from the site.
The free title won’t be here forever, so be sure to grab it soon!
Players can also earn experience points (dubbed as “XP”) by purchasing titles (discounted or not) during the Summer Sale dates and participating in daily activities to earn badges. There are plenty of games to choose from, with over 1000 deals for DRM-free PC games, with popular titles such as The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt or Darkest Dungeon: Soundtrack Edition.
GOG.com will also be streaming on Twitch, giving users various opportunities to earn XP, including some quirky challenges in Stardew Valley and Grim Fandango Remastered. The first challenge takes place on Thursday June 9th, at 4:00 PM UTC — players will have to do some parsnip planting in Stardew Valley. Take a look at GOG.com’s Twitch schedule for more details and other to-be-streamed games!
