Gorgeous Indie Game Tengami To Release Soon

Keep your eye out for this visually stunning indie coming to iOS this summer.

I reached out to Nyamyam, an independent studio based in the UK yesterday, with the intention of highlighting their game, Tengami. Headed by Jennifer Schneidereit, Phil Tossell and Ryo Agarie, Nyamyam has been working on Tengami for a while now and the iOS version is set to release this summer. If you take pleasure in visual beauty, Japanese culture, and out-of-the-box approaches in gaming, you’re going to love Tengami.

Tengami is an “ancient dark fairy tale” inspired by pop-up books and Japanese art and history. Your character wanders through this masterfully crafted pop-up world uncovering secrets through puzzles in order to progress and unravel mysteries.

The most interesting element of Tengami is that the environments have a pop-up, papercraft quality. You get the 3D aspect by 2D means, and all the while every bit of it is artfully colored and textured.

Much time, work, and love has clearly gone into the creation of Tengami and has rightly been recognized. Tengami was an IndieCade 2012 finalist, was selected for the Sense of Wonder Night at the Tokyo Game Show in 2012 and, more recently, was shortlisted at the Develop Conference for the Indie Showcase 2013.

Nyamyam is developing Tengami for iOS, PC, Mac, and Wii U, but look out for the iOS version very soon.
