Even though the upcoming Gran Turismo 6 hasn’t came out yet, Kazunori Yamauchi, the creator of the Gran Turismo series, has announced Gran Turismo 7 to release for the PS4 sometime next year.
Yamauchi was at this year’s Los Angeles Motor Show, and talked a bit about next year’s installment to the series.
“We don’t want to take too long on Gran Turismo 7,” Kazunori stated. “Best-case scenario? Next year. In GT6 we really had to tune the software 100 percent to maximize the PS3’s architecture, but of course the PS4’s hardware is much better, so I think the overall quality of the game across the board will be boosted when you come to play it”.
Gran Turismo 6 is going to have spectacular graphics, and so will the next game as well. Kazunori said that he hopes to harness the true power of the PS4 during the creation of Gran Turismo 7.
Kazunori also noted that he “respects” the other racing franchise Forza.
“The racing genre isn’t really that big in its entirety, so I’m glad that everyone works hard to boost the genre as a whole.” Kazunori said after he talked about the Forza franchise.
It is safe to assume that GT7 probably won’t release for the PS3 next year, so Gran Turismo fans are going to have to upgrade to a Playstation 4 if they haven’t already by then. More news will be added as the next year progresses.
