While everyone's been waiting in anticipation for the new Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon to come out, Nintendo's been keeping us occupied with information about new Pokemon and about Zygarde. With the introduction of a new trailer, we've gotten our first glimps of the nine new Pokemon. And now we've got a little more information on each one.
So here's everything we know so far about the nine new Pokemon for Sun and Moon.
Tapu Koko
Type: Electric/Fairy
Ability: Electric Surge
Tapu Koko is the guardian deity of Melemele Island, one of the several islands of the Alola Region. The new ability Electric Surge is an interesting one. as it fills the field in Electricity around Tapu Koko, boosting the power of Electric-type moves used by Pokemon in contact with the ground while preventing them from falling asleep.
Charjabug
Type: Bug/Electric
Ability: Battery
Charjabug is the evolution of a previously released Pokemon, Grubbin, found in this E3 trailer. The Battery ability allows Charjabug to raise the power of allies' special moves, allowing Charjabug to be a great team player.
Vikavolt
Type: Bug/Electric
Ability: Levitate
As the evolution of Charjabug, Vikavolt can now fly around and hit as strong as a fortress. Using its huge jaws, Vikavolt can control beams of electricity which it fires from his mouth, similar to a railgun.
Drampa
Type: Normal/Dragon
Ability: Berserk
Drampa is a new Dragon-type Pokemon that lives in solitude way above the sea-level in the mountains. When its HP drops below 50%, the Berserk ability will raise his Special Attack by one stage, allowing Drampa to hit harder against its opponents.
Bruxish
Type: Water/Psychic
Ability: Dazzling
While it's grinding its sharp teeth, Bruxish releases a strong psychic power from the protrusion on its head. Some Bruxish are known to have the ability Dazzling, which prevents opponents from using moves with priority that usually allows them to strike first.
Cutiefly
Type: Bug/Fairy
Cutiefly seems to be able to detect the aura of living things. They use this ability to find flowers based on the color and the brightness of the auras before collecting nectar and pollen.
Togedemaru
Type: Electric/Steel
Togedemaru is also known as the Roly-Poly Pokemon. it uses a long needle that grows from the back of its head, to gather and store electricity like a lightning rod.
Rockruff
Type: Rock
Rockruff is known for its amazing sense of smell, never forgetting an odor it has encountered before. There are tales of Rockruffs getting separated from their Trainers and using the faintest of smells to track them for days until they were reunited.
Komala
Type: Normal
Ability: Comatose
Komala is an amusing Pokemon, as no one has apparently seen it while it's awake. It eats, travels, and even battles while sleeping. According to ancient legends, Komala's saliva can be used as medicine for the sick and sleepless. The ability Comatose keeps Komala in a drowsy state, but prevents any other status conditions from affecting it.
Zygarde 50% Forme
Type: Dragon/Ground
Ability: Power Construct
Zygarde believes itself to be the protector of the ecosystem and monitors it to ensure the ecosystem is not disrupted. Even with its overwhelming power, this forme only contains 50% of all his cells. With the Power Construct ability, Zygarde can transform into his Complete Forme when the HP drops below 50%.
Zygarde 10% Forme
Type: Dragon/Ground
Ability: Power Construct
In times of emergency, this forme can move independently from the 50% Main Body. One of his unique moves is called Thousand Arrows. It is a Ground-type move that can attack Flying-types and those with Levitate. It also allows those same opponents to be affected by other Ground-type moves. Another unique move is Thousand Waves, which prevents opponents from fleeing or switching out mid-battle.
Zygarde Complete Forme
Type: Dragon/Ground
Finally, Zygarde forms his battle mode, enabling him to use his full strength and potential to defend the Pokemon Ecosystem. His ultimate attack, Core Enforcer, erases the Abilities of any Pokemon that has already used a move that same turn.
With Pokemon Sun and Pokemon Moon being released on November 18th of this year, Nintendo will bring more news before the game finally comes out. Look out for more Pokemon news and interesting new Pokemon here at GameSkinny in the meantime!
