Hakuoki: Warriors of the Shinsengumi is coming to English-speaking PSP owners February 19th, and publisher Aksys Games has announced what goodies preorder holders will be able to get with the game.
It’s nice to see the sequel to Hakuoki: Demon of the Fleeting Blossom get a proper localization, especially considering how niche of a game the original was. An otome (girls’) visual novel on the PSP localized? I bought it for the simple novelty of its release.
Warriors of the Shinsengumi is a visual novel/action combination. It mixes in the visual novel aspects of the first game with Dynasty Warriors-style gameplay, in three different game modes.
Standard copies of the game will come with a 16 page character guide, featuring artwork of the game’s characters in their in-game attire. Preordering from Amazon nets you a 22-inch bandana with a print of the game’s eight playable characters.

I have to hand it to Aksys for not only localizing Hakuoki: Warriors of the Shinsengumi — not many publishers would localized this time of game, much less one on the PSP. Look for it on February 19th, or hop over to Amazon for that bandana preorder bonus.
