The original Halo 2 is still hailed as the best-selling Xbox 360 game of all time, with 8 million copies sold. It dominated online multiplayer over Xbox Live for two years running. Here, you can see for the first time what to expect from the remastered version of this best-selling game as part of Halo: The Master Chief Collection being released on November 11th.
November 9th will mark Halo 2’s ten year anniversary, but you sure wouldn’t guess that this is a ten year old game from the visuals in this trailer. Blur Studios, known veteran of game cinematics, was brought in by 343 Industries to give all of Halo 2’s cinematic cut scenes a facelift worthy of next-gen consoles.
It remains to be seen whether or not the remastered version of Bungie’s Halo franchise will sell as many copies as the original, but given Halo 2’s success, and the obvious effort Bungie has made to make the game visually impressive, this could be the collection that sells new Xbox One consoles this holiday season. Certainly, the nostalgia factor will be high as people once again don the Master Chief’s assault armor.
