Everyone knows that certain actions can get a person banned from most online games.  While digital communities enjoy their anonymity and the ability to push certain bounds of taste and manners, at least Halo 4 is trying to curtail some of the issues and more vile types of negativity to create a more enjoyable community, as when they announced they would be banning players for making offensive sexist, racist, or otherwise bigoted remarks.  Now players have found themselves banned for previewing or purchasing downloadable content.

Players have been reporting receiving permanent bans for previewing or actually buying the Crimson Map Pack for Halo 4.  A forum moderator stated in no uncertain terms that they are not banning players for the DLC and also acknowledged that they are investigating the players who are claiming exactly that to determine if there is a bug of some sort in order to, one would hope, correct the error and provide assistance and recompense for the slighted players.

Don’t lose hope, ye of the banned.  We’re watching with you.
