For months, the most requested feature to be added into Halo 5: Guardians was the Firefight Co-Op mode — a mode first introduced in Halo 3: ODST back in 2009. The mode hasn’t made an appearance since the last Bungie-made Halo game, Halo Reach, released all the way back in 2010.
Now, after months of teasing, developing, and a beta version released a few months ago, Halo 5: Guardians is finally getting the fan favorite mode next week, on June 29th.
The update will introduces three new maps—Attack on Sanctum for Warzone, Prospect for Warzone Assault, and Molten, a new arena map. Forge mode will receive a new canvas on which players can build, called Tidal. New REQ items will also come with the update, including new armor sets, as well as weapon and vehicle variants. Firefight will introduce new bosses and vehicles like the Grunt Goblin and the AV-49 Wasp, and a score attack option for Multiplayer.
Finally, those who have yet to play Halo 5 will be able to try the whole game for free during the week Firefight is released. Hope to see you on the battlefield!
