If you haven’t had the chance to see the Halo: Nightfall series because you didn’t get the Halo: Master Chief Collection, don’t worry, the five episode arc will be merged into one full-length film available on DVD and Blu-ray March 17th.
Produced by Ridley Scott, the miniseries is set between the events of Halo 4 and the upcoming Halo 5: Guardians. The movie tells the story of the character Jameson Locke, a member of the Office of Naval Intelligence who will be part of the Guardians storyline. Locke is caught in the middle of a devastating biological terrorist attack on the planet Sedra and is sent to investigate its origins. Locke and his team travel to a familiar locale from Halo history to combat this new threat while having to work with Sedra officers that don’t trust his unit.
The movie will also be available through digital download and streaming avenues the same day as DVD. Several other Halo movies have been released before including Forward Unto Dawn and Halo: Legends, but this marks the first attempt at a high production value with a $10 million budget that used Iceland to represent a fragment of the original Halo. The show stars Mike Colter as Locke and Steven Waddington as the distrustful Colonel Randall Aiken.
