Microsoft registered the domain name for Halo: Spartan Assault earlier this month. Well, the wait is over now as they’ve announced that Halo: Spartan Assault is a twin stick shooter coming to… Windows 8 devices. Great. Well I guess the two people that actually own Windows 8 devices will have a good time, right?
In defense of the game, it looks like a solid top down shooter developed by 343 Industries, and it makes me wish Windows devices were worth purchasing. Spartan Assault will allow payers to get in the shows of a Spartan warrior taking on Covenant forces between the Halo 3 and Halo 4.
**That guy is totally screwed.**
Game Informer says the story revolves around Halo 4’s Sarah Palmer and the development of the UNSC’s Spartan Ops program featured in the Halo 4 multiplayer. The story is designed to be like a training project for prospective Spartans to re-enact the greatest battles with the Covenant.
The game is expected to release this July.
How do you feel about the newest game in the Halo series? It sure looks cool, but do you want it on the XBLA at some point too? Also, does anyone have a Windows 8 tablet I can borrow? Sound off in the comments down below and maybe I’ll make you eggs tomorrow for breakfast!
