At Sony’s E3 conference, Hideo Kojima came out on stage and presented his new game, Death Stranding. The game was announced with no release date, and the only thing shown was a teaser trailer starring Norman Reedus from ‘The Walking Dead’.
Hideo Kojima has been noted as one of the greatest game developers of all time, and has been in the public eye due to a bad relationship and a lot of controversy with Konami.
Back in 2012, Konami and Hideo Kojima began developement on a new entry in the Silent Hill franchise. The game was to be directed by Guillermo del Toro, and would star Norman Reedus from The Walking Dead. A demo of the game was released in 2014 under the name P.T., which received praise from critics and fans alike.
In 2015, it was announced that this new Silent Hills game was cancelled and that Kojima was planning to leave Konami after the completion of Metal Gear Solid V.
Kojima then announced in December 2015 that he had partnered with Sony to produce a game that would be exclusive to Playstation. That game turned out to be Death Stranding.
After the announcement of Death Stranding at E3, Reedus took to Instagram to share his thoughts about the announcement. He posted the image above with no caption. It’s safe to say that Reedus is siding with Kojima and has a dislike of Konami due to the fallout.
