Hokko Life Grows an Early Access Release Date

New life-sim game Hokko Life hits early access this summer.

Wonderscope Games announced a Hokko Life Early Access release date of June 2, though judging from the new Hokko Life trailer, it looks like a fairly robust — and very lovely — early access version.

Hokko Life sees you move to a charming, but run-down village populated by animals. That probably sounds familiar, but it seems as if Hokko Life blends elements of Animal Crossing with the likes of My Time at Portia, with an added emphasis on design.

You’ll build, buy, and design furniture using a 3D design tool and place it at any angle you like, a feature that might sound insignificant unless you’ve played any life-sim game that isn’t The Sims recently. Hokko Life is about giving you control over your animal village life. Make friends, or don’t, do chores, or don’t, and chill out with some fishing. Or, y’know, don’t.

Whether Hokko Life‘s rich art style and in-depth design tools are enough to set it apart from Animal Crossing and others remains to be seen, but we don’t have long to wait and find out.
