Hotline Miami was all about top-down, old-fashioned, pixellated insanity. If that’s your thing, you’ll definitely want to sign up for the sequel.
Developer Devolver Digital aims to release Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number on PC, Mac and Linux later this year. They’re also hoping to bring the anticipated game to all PlayStation platforms (PS4, PS3 and Vita), but it may not be possible. As the studio said on Twitter:
@gamejunkie107 PC, Mac, and Linux – hoping to launch on PS4, PS3, and Vita at the same time but not certain that will happen.

Officially, the new effort is scheduled to arrive during the third quarter of this year. If you’re a PlayStation fan, you’ll definitely want to see Hotline Miami 2 sooner rather than later, right? Personally, I’m hoping for game that isn’t quite so demanding; I love a challenge, but I’ve never really liked games that felt as if the AI had a singular advantage. Of course, that’s the way all video games were back in the day, but still…
An example of gaming the way it once was
Yeah, gaming really was this juvenile. Yeah, it really did look this bad. Yeah, it was completely and totally mindless. However, it was also so vastly different from the overall experience. I think this is why we’re seeing a retro resurgence these days: It’s not just “old,” it’s not just about nostalgia, it’s that it’s different.
